Cellulite
Cellulite is a significant cosmic concern primarily affecting women hormonal influences and physiologic differences in their skin. The process involves subcutaneous fat pushing its way into dermis causing visible lumps, wrinkling and dimpling. Additionally, these areas of the skin form septa between these pockets dermal fat making it more difficult to treat satellite than traditional subcutaneous fat.

Estrogen is the major hormonal player in this process. Other contributing factors include poor venous return, multiple pregnancies, smoking, diet, and possibly gender related genetic factors.

Several treatments are available to treat cellulite. Many see temporary improvement with topical application of extreme contain caffeine. These effects are however limited to several hours. Subcutaneous lysis with certain chemicals has been shown to reduce these fact deposits but is not the most effective. Many static technologies, however, have been shown to significantly improve cellulite for longer periods of time. Radiofrequency, cooling, ultrasound and laser therapies are available and are much more effective at delivering long-term reduction of cellulite.
